For oranges and grapefruit you'll have to gauge it once you get used to using it. Insert the peeler into the top as close to the stem attachment as possible and push it in as far as it will go. Step 2: Use your index finger or thumb to push inwards and downwards until you complete the cut right to the bottom apex of the fruit.
